Lisabeth to attend the 2009 SAE Leadership Development Program

January 12, 2009 - Engineering senior Andrew J. Lisabeth has been selected to attend the 2009 Society of Automotive Engineers Leadership Development Program to be held in Orlando, Florida from January 21-23, 2009. Lisabeth's selection is a very prestigious honor - SAE selects only 25 student members nationwide who have exhibited outstanding leadership skills through SAE student activities on campus. The annual conference helps to further develop these skills for future leadership roles in SAE and in a professional engineering career. This is the fifth year in a row that a CMU/SAE member has been chosen to attend the SAE Leadership Development Program.

Langenderfer awarded PRIF grant

May 30, 2008 - Joseph Langenderfer received a $15,000 President's Research Investment Fund grant to study shoulder tears, specifically within rotator cuff muscles. Depending upon the location and size of the tear, varying degrees of muscle damage can occur. By studying sizes and locations of rotator cuff tears and comparing the data to normal shoulder strength, doctors and patients will have more information to work with when making decisions regarding surgery.
